Well it seems that Manga and Anime have been getting more and more popular- and 2003 was no exception. According to the leading Manga distributors, the Manga market was the most accelerated genre of pop culture last year. This is evident by the sheer number of 'How to draw Manga' and Fansites there are when you type in Manga to the search engines.
It seems that the genre is most popular with females, who look for it at book shops. (A bit like me!) The girls seem to be attracted to the highly emotive style of the large-eyed girls and children. I, for one favor Shojo, which is cutesy. It's mainly aimed at the younger girls in Japan.
As the popularity of Manga and Anime continue, so do the rise in Hentai. Hentai is the kind of Anime which is pornographic. These sites pop up quite frequently when you visit the more dodgy Manga sites. I can guarantee that none of my links have these pop ups, so they are safe and suitable for children to access.
